39. Breaking Tradition

shaun 1

There were prayers I memorized when I was small,
They helped me out when I would fall.
But now today I’ve grown to be,
Confident in choosing what’s right for me.

I kept the good and rewrote the sad,
For a relationship with your maker shouldn’t make you feel bad.
So now I write upon the page,
New prayers I will take with me as I age.

Hail Mary full of Grace,
Thank you for guiding me through the trials I face.
Our Father who art in Heaven,
Thank you for all the gifts to me you have given.

Oh my God I am heartily sorry,
For all the times I didn’t trust you and chose to worry.
Angel of God my guardian dear,
It is to you I entrust all of my fear.

Give us this day our daily bread,
For from the good earth we are all fed.
Amazing grace how sweet the sound,
At the end of this life I am Heaven bound.

Glory be to the Father, and to The Son, and to The Holy Spirit,
Speak messages you want me to hear loudly so that I may hear it.
Hail Holy Queen enthroned above,
Shower me always with your abundant love.

I believe in God the Father almighty,
Who gives  hope to me daily and as well as nightly.
Now I lay me down to sleep,
In Your arms I rest so sweet.
