26. The Day the Heavens Cried

The rain poured down from the skies today,

I sensed the earth was feeling my sadness.

All the day long the heavens cried for me.

From morning to night the tears streamed down releasing my pain,

While giving my body a pause from its torment.

I don’t know when the sun will shine again in my life,

I long to feel its healing warmth upon my skin.

Today the heavens gave me the gift of rest,

For today was the day the heavens cried.
