The mind is a cruel taskmaster,
The body its slave.
Fighting to be free from its mental anguish,
The physical being strikes out against itself by marking the flesh.
The pain is a release,
The blood its tears.
The body tricks the mind and changes the focus.
The mind must then take a rest from its torture,
And comfort the body.
The taskmaster then becomes the comforter.
