Walk a day in my shoes my friend and feel what I feel.
The constant pain of my body,
The battles that play over and again inside my mind,
And the loneliness that plagues my searching heart.

Walk a day in my shoes my friend and know what I know.
Fear not my soul is not lost,
For a higher power knows me and of my true and loving spirit.

Walk a day in my shoes my friend and be who I am.
Judge not the choices that I make,
For they are made with knowing eyes,
And bring solace to me in a world that has offered me little comfort.

Walk a day in my shoes my friend,
Only then will you know who I really am.
I am just a soul on the path of life moving forward to the best of my ability.

Walk a day in my shoes my friend,
And then just be,
My friend.
