32. Some Things I Know

I know where I have been,
But not where I am going.

I know of who I was,
And not know who I am.

I know than I am not perfect,
I know I never was.

I know that life owes me nothing,
And many times I want to give it nothing in return

I know that sleep eludes me,
And the long days are a game I play.

I know that my body is in constant battle with my mind,
And my mind is in constant battle with my soul.

I know that I am often sick, lonely, tired and sad.
I know at times I am confused,
And often do not have the strength to put it all in order.

I know that I didn’t in the past,
Nor do I know any better now,
What is this thing called love.

The only thing I truly know,
Is that I must continue to write the words.
