35. Pretty Girl

#1

– Star Song

Pretty girl, pretty girl,
Where have you flown,
You look somewhat faded,
Now that you have grown.

Pretty girl, pretty girl,
You seem to be worn,
The pain it has gripped you,
Since early this morn.

When you’ve looked in the mirror,
What have you seen,
Your very blue eyes,
Have now turned to green.

They are heavy with pain,
Your skin is so pale,
Fatigue shrouds your face,
With a lacey white veil.

Pretty girl, pretty girl,
It is now time for bed.
I pray that you find peace,
When you lay down your head.

Pretty girl, pretty girl,
I hope tomorrow you’ll see,
Less pain in your reflection,
Pretty again you may be.
