A Letter from the Author

07

Dear ones,

Between the covers of this book you will hear the audible voice of pain. The words are not meant as discouragement but offered as a vehicle for expression that is felt by many and voiced by few. Similar to the kindred Spirit that one might share with the author of a favorite melancholy song that is played over and over again, the connection comes from knowing that there is someone else on the earth that feels the same way. This expression validates our pain and our sanity, as it clears away the stagnant Energy that is trapped inside our bodies from constantly stuffing down our true voice. We are expected to be strong, wear a stiff upper lip and carry on day to day like the good soldier, but the fact is that real pain exists in our lives. Mental, physical, emotional and situational pain takes up residence in our bodies causing illness.

Connecting with another through word, song or a piece of artwork evokes an emotion that stirs a physical response. Although the initial response may be sadness and bring a tear to the eye, it gets the Energy moving and moving Energy has the ability to be cleared and when it is cleared a void is left behind. What you choose to fill this void with is a choice that is a gateway to healing. At first the void is unsettling, as our minds go to the place of rest that it knows best, the place of pain. The mind strangely feels disconnected as it searches for a new place to settle. If you have chosen well, when it finds that new place, there is an innate sense of peace. Do not fear this time for it is full of unlimited potential! It is a time to reconnect with your authentic self, a time to grow, a time to heal and a time to prosper. It is a time to begin a new life and the gift of opportunity that has presented itself to you is to learn a new way. As you read this book, feel the connection you may have with the pain that you read, and let the Energy move. Move it by feeling, crying, running, screaming, singing, dancing, creating an art piece or perhaps writing. Push away the fear of expression and all the thoughts that you might have about being judged because the truth will set you free.

On my path, when I was able to express my pain through my writing or an art piece it freed a space for me that I chose to fill with new positive Energy. I learned a new way of thinking, acting and being through Energy healing. Reiki, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), and Positive Affirmation Life Coaching are just a sampling of tools I was gifted with on my healing journey. These alternative healing modalities made such a positive impact on my life. I first became the student and then ultimately the Master of my own destiny. Yes I still have physical pain and mental challenges, there is not a moment in the waking hours of my day when I am not in pain. The difference between when I wrote this book and this moment is the shift in my Energy field.

This book, over a decade in the making, is my gift to you. The gift is permission to feel and say what pain is for you. It may be ugly, it may be sad, but it is your voice. It is the moving of the Energy in you and through you and the idea that you too have the choice to carve out a new story for your own life, one where pain is something you endure, not something that you are. Although your pain may still keep you company, by replacing the grip it has on your mind you will find new Energy and new hope for a more fulfilling and peaceful existence.

Look forward to the sequel, A Whisper in the Wind II, A Glimpse on the Other Side of Healing, a positive reflection on living life through and alongside pain instead of just living with it.

Many Blessings,

Susan Kubert *)
