55. City Summer Nights

54. WTTS ST

The traffic never sleeps as it slows to a trickle on a city summer night.

On the sill of my open window a small fan hums as it brings to me the cool night air.

A random voice calls out from another non sleeper.

The birds are quiet now asleep in the big maple tree that shades the side of my apartment.

A dog’s bark echoes down the sleepy streets and around the silent pauses,

A loud vehicle pierces the dead of night.

Busses carrying deep night travelers drones by.

Nothing seems to disturb the rest that has fallen upon,

A city summer night.
