A Litany of Not Living in the Present Moment
I’ll be happy when, I’m grown and out from under the control of my mother and father.
I’ll be happy when, I’m married and live in a place of my own.
I’ll be happy when, I’m a mother.
I’ll be happy when, we are not under military control and I can live wherever I want.
I’ll be happy when, I can live closer to my birth family.
I’ll be happy when, they understand me and love me for who I really am.
I’ll be happy when, we can buy a house and decorate it the way we want.
I’ll be happy when, I have a career and a job of my own.
I’ll be happy when, I am out of my marriage.
I’ll be happy when, my divorce is final.
I’ll be happy when, my children are gown and have happy lives.
I’ll be happy when, I can buy my own house.
I’ll be happy when, my love and I can be together.
I’ll be happy when, I don’t have to work in pain any longer.
I’ll be happy when, my disability is approved.
I’ll be happy when, I’m a grandmother.
I’ll be happy when, my house is sold.
I’ll be happy when, my voice is heard.
I’ll be happy when, I’m closer to God, and that time is now.
Time presents itself as the here and now, this very moment of this very day and every moment of every day. Guidance has taught me to be present, happy and grateful always. For spending a life waiting to be happy is a life that is truly wasted.
